OUR HISTORY

Introduction

APPCO started in 2010 to offer psychosocial support, reunions of families, simple relief and resettlement packages and to help mobilize communities to co-exist after a lifelong Karamojong conflict, raids, and abductions. Development work was added on with the initiation of Community Development Projects and capacity-building sessions by UN Women in 2010 for Northern, Eastern, and Karamoja regions.

African Partners for Child Poverty – Through development, assistance, and advocacy, APPCO strives to address the causes and impacts of poverty. The predicament of Deprived, Excluded, and Vulnerable children and women in the areas where we serve is the focus of our programming. APPCO can provide educational support, empower communities to end violence against women and girls, construct and equip schools and health centers, train health workers and farmers, participate in advocacy campaigns, distribute improved crop varieties and animal breeds, and provide clean and safe water.
