PARTNERSHIPS AND NETWORKS

At APPCO, we believe lasting change is achieved through strong, value-driven partnerships. We work collaboratively with communities, government institutions, civil society organizations, donors, and the private sector to address the root causes of vulnerability affecting children, adolescents, and women.

Our partnership approach goes beyond service delivery. It is grounded in mutual accountability, shared learning, and collective impact, ensuring that interventions are community-owned, sustainable, and responsive to local realities.

APPCO strategically partners to:

  • Prevent and respond to violence against children and gender-based violence

  • Promote sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) for adolescents and young people

  • Strengthen community protection, care, and referral systems

  • Improve livelihoods, nutrition, and household resilience

  • Influence policies and social norms through evidence-based advocacy

Our Commitment

  • Aligned with national priorities and global development frameworks

APPCO remained an active member of several national and regional networks, including:

  1. Stay Late Alliance – A coalition of over 50 member organizations working to strengthen agricultural livelihoods and improve market opportunities for farmers. Through this alliance, APPCO contributed to initiatives that enhance farmers’ bargaining power, strengthen value chains, and promote sustainable household incomes.
  2. Welthungerhilfe (WHH) Nutrition Consortium – Working alongside consortium partners to improve nutrition outcomes through coordinated programming, knowledge sharing, and integrated community-based nutrition interventions.
  3. Education in Emergencies (EiE) Coordination Platform – In collaboration with the Government of Uganda and humanitarian partners, APPCO supported efforts to ensure that children affected by emergencies continue to access safe, inclusive, and quality education.
  4. All In All Learning Network Uganda – As one of eight member organizations, APPCO participated in peer learning, knowledge exchange, and collaborative initiatives aimed at improving education quality, strengthening organizational capacity, and promoting evidence-based programming.
  5. Girls Not Brides Network – APPCO worked alongside network members to advocate for the prevention of child marriage, reduction of teenage pregnancies, and elimination of gender-based violence through community engagement, policy advocacy, and awareness campaigns.
  6. Charter for Change Uganda – As part of this national network, APPCO joined other local and international organizations in advocating for increased investment in locally led development. The network promotes equitable partnerships and greater funding for national organizations implementing education, child protection, and livelihood programmes, while strengthening the leadership of local actors in humanitarian and development responses.
