APPCO is implementing a 4 years project titled; Resilient Actions for Inclusive Education (READ) promoting early childhood development, nutrition, safety, and protection of vulnerable children in northern Uganda while integrating models that are self-sustaining including capacity building and life cycle models for building better partnerships.

This project aims at creating sustainable avenues for access to inclusive pre-school. It applies a sport and play-based sports learning approach that gives 6,800 children a chance to full cognitive, emotional, social, and physical potential by creating an environment that provides healthcare and nutrition, that is caring and responsive, that protects and stimulates them. This project is being implemented in Lamwo district in Northern Uganda.

PROJECT OUTCOMES TO ACHIEVE

Increased participation of marginalized children and their caregivers in play-up activities to enhance access and retention in inclusive education using ECD life-cycle approach.

Improved knowledge, capacity, and nutritional practices of caregivers and parents to promote the healthy development of their young marginalized children using family-centered approaches.

Enhanced capacity of key stakeholders and institutions creating an enabling environment for inclusive education, care, and protection for marginalized children.
